Raising awareness via videos

People with hearing difficulties wait almost seven years from the onset of hearing loss until they seek help. To tackle this problem, Sivantos US decided to raise awareness of hearing loss and the risks associated with waiting to address it.

“One of the main impacts of hearing loss is on the individual’s ability to communicate with others”, states the World Health Organization (WHO) in their publication about deafness and hearing loss. And adds: “Exclusion from communication can have a significant impact on everyday life, causing feelings of loneliness, isolation, and frustration, particularly among older people with hearing loss.”

To help people seeking help as soon as possible, Sivantos US launched their new video series “It’s Your Choice” that follows three individuals with hearing loss and their path to better hearing: Harvey Patterson from Los Angeles, Danyell Schendis from Memphis and Robert Seidler from Florida.

These stories shall be an inspiration to others and encourage more people to seek help and improve their hearing.
