What is the UN Global Compact?
The Global Compact initiative was formed in the year 2000. Although voluntary, participation commits companies and their CEOs to incorporating ten guiding principles on human rights, labor, environment and anti-corruption into every-day business operations, company strategy and culture. As such, the Global Compact engages not only the leadership of a company, but all business functions and employees. The initiative further calls on companies to promote the Global Compact goals and principles through their communication channels, and to advance efforts in other United Nations programs, such as the global Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

What does it mean for Sivantos?

We will shape our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) strategy and activities to match our commitment to UN global compact. As a leading manufacturer of hearing aids, we have the opportunity to contribute in the areas of health, education as well as environmentally sustainable consumption and production.

“Our commitment to and participation in the United Nations Global Compact Initiative is not only our social responsibility as a globally active company. It is an opportunity for Sivantos to step up and show we care and bring back the magic of hearing to our customers”
– CEO Ignacio Martinez.

Sivantos is committed to publishing ongoing activities, progress and results in the areas of human rights, anti-corruption, labor and environment annually as part of a ‘Communication on Progress’ (COP) of the UN Global Compact to all stakeholders, beginning in March 2018.
