End Senior Poverty - Meal Pack Challenge

On 11th September 2018, Paige Brough, Vice President of Marketing and Corporate Communication of HearUSA, participated in the last event of this year’s Summer of Service to Seniors Meal Pack Challenge. Thanks to this event, more than 1 million nutritious meals were prepared and sent to hungry seniors throughout the D.C. metropolitan area. Paige, together with other volunteers, helped to surpass AARP’s ambitious goal of packing more than 2.5 million meals throughout the summer to meet the needs of food-insecure seniors.

“It was especially nice to participate in this event on 9/11. I was able to show my support and to honour the sacrifice of so many of our fellow Americans by participating on the National Day of Service and Remembrance. It was also a way to turn a somber day into a day for optimism and compassion”, states Paige.

The event was held at the National Mall in Washington DC and was organised by the AARP Foundation, along with the help from a variety of sponsors. AARP, short for American Association of Retired Persons, is a non-profit organisation empowering people to choose how they live as they age.
