Giving a voice to a Sivantos employee with disabilities

At Sivantos, we treat all our employees the same, regardless of their origin, beliefs, abilities or disabilities. One of these employees is Muhammad Sulaiman. Muhammad Sulaiman was diagnosed with Spina Bidifa and Poliomyelitis when he was five, and in 1988 his foot had to be amputated. Despite his dexterity and intellectual acumen, he struggled to find a job – until he applied at Sivantos. We gave him a chance to prove his skills and the results were fantastic, so we hired him.

We are proud to see that Channel News Asia reported Muhammad Sulaiman’s experience in the documentary “Inside our factories” where he was given a chance to tell his story.

Hiring people with disabilities and making a company’s work environment more inclusive are part of the UN sustainable development goals and directly contribute to SDG 12 “Responsible Production and Consumption”. Sustainable consumption and production are about promoting resource and energy efficiency, sustainable infrastructure, and providing access to basic services, green and decent jobs and a better quality of life for all.
